Foresight Successfully Develops Intelligent Coating Equipment for Lithium Battery Separators

The new energy industry is the only strategic emerging industry in which China holds a leading position globally. Lithium batteries are the core components of the new energy industry, with significant investments in research and development from global research institutions and enterprises. The Chinese government has designated lithium batteries as a national strategic priority, accelerating their development with substantial national resources, achieving remarkable results. The vast market potential for lithium batteries has spurred the rapid growth of lithium battery manufacturing equipment. However, the high-end core equipment for manufacturing one of the key components of lithium battery cells—the separator—still relies on imports and is in short supply, which is detrimental to the complete autonomy and control of China's new energy industry chain.


Since 2020, Foresight has actively organized its R&D team to benchmark against industry leaders and began developing intelligent coating equipment for lithium battery separators. During the first half of this year, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic in Shanghai, the separator coating R&D team persevered in a closed-loop development environment. After more than a month of relentless effort, they finally completed the final stage of equipment debugging, achieving core technical indicators that meet advanced industry standards.

Wide Compatibility: Compatible with all combinations of water-based ceramic and water-based PVDF available on the market, utilizing a modular design for seamless integration.


Intelligent Unwinding and Rewinding: Incorporates multi-segment taper control combinations and AI algorithms from start to finish. Different product recipes can be saved and recalled as needed.


Multi-Heat Source Integration: Adds a thermal radiation system during the pre-drying stage of the oven, ensuring stable internal oven temperature without affecting the stability of the membrane slurry.


Static Coating Technology: Eliminates back roller adjustment errors, making it easier for operators to observe and store data for future tracking.


Automated Data Collection: Process data is automatically collected during production, eliminating the need for manual recording. Additional equipment added by customers can also be integrated into the system for data collection.
